According to sources such as Wiki - the antifa movement has existed in different eras and incarnations, dating back to Antifaschistische Akiton (then it was the Stalinist Communist Party of Germany).

Mark Bray is the author of 'Antifa: The Anti-Fascist Handbook' (Bray was an organizer for Occupy Wall Street) - but he does not claim leadership.

Rather - the 'structured movement' is organized into small, local cells that coordinate across the US.

Rose City Antifa (the name they have given themselves) is one of the oldest groups, founded in Portland Oregon in 2007.

At the end of the day - it doesn't really matter who wants to play 'simon says' as the leader of a loosely structured "organization". What matter is who funds it - thus enabling its 'acts'. And THAT is easily researched...even before the movie Jerry McGuire we were familiar with the phrase "Show Me The Money".

The Anti-Fascist Group from the 1920's and 1930's were composed of communists, socialists, and anarchists. After Hitler seized power in 1933, many members of the 'historical anti-fascist groups' were imprisoned or killed. (So says AI).

Hitler was a fascist dictator. The US and others fought against his fascist regime, including those who may have been socialist or communist or perhaps even 'fascist' in their own rite at the time. Still... they became 'antifa' in that they did not want to be taken over by another more dangerous and rogue dictator. so they joined forces and fought along with other 'antifa' groups to defeat the spread of Hitler's fascist/Nazi Germany.

Of course you can have two fascists fighting against (or with) each other. It is never simple. That's why we went into a 'cold war' AFTER Russia fought WITH us against the fascist Axis powers. After the war, Russia became a threat to democracy with its own fascist communist leaders... and thus the cold war, arms race, yada yada.

You needn't pretend that fascist equates to communism or socialism... although, if the current dictator-wanna-be could have his wish come true, he might very well throw the country into a form of communism, just as his hero Vlad has championed.

Some people turn from what called a faith...but in actuality they just didn't want it. They try on other ones hoping something will at least closely fit their own belief... utterly blaming God for not having one they can comfortably slip on and off like a shoe.

I can only call evil evil...man is already in need of redemption because of this..or did you skip Sunday school in your earlier days of looking into it?

God is alive, real, and the only true judge. His son Jesus for every man and woman's sin. Calling people sinners isn't hard...asking them to repent and become saints... that's God's work.

And I believe in His work to be the only relationship that matters..not to appease lost hearts, minds, and souls...but to connect them to Jesus' reality, life, and mission.
