Should robots be allowed to violate laws that humans have to obey?

If a human driver received 20 citations they would loose their license. Human drivers are required to obey laws even when they disagree with the law.

An outlaw is fundamentally someone who defies or refuses to obey laws. Waymo is an outlaw company.

Waymo is refusing a request from the Austin Independent School District to temporarily cease operations after receiving another citation for illegally passing a school bus. Waymo does not agree with Austin ISD's risk assessment and is working to make additional changes to the software used on its driverless vehicles.

The robot company in my video above did that 20 times and they get to keep driving.

A human lady did this 3 times, so they towed away and impounded her car for 30 days. See 1:08 in the video below:

I have ZERO interest in getting in one. And if they start appearing around here I will have yet another concern to keep an eye on (like there isn't enough to pay attention to already).

Woman in Los Angeles found man inside Waymo trunk before ride

December 11, 2025 / 6:48 AM PST / CBS LA

Police are looking into how a man ended up inside the trunk of a driverless Waymo in the Westlake District, surprising a mom and daughter.

The incident was captured in a TikTok video and shows the driverless Waymo pull up to the curb when the door opens and a man is already inside, tucked behind the back seat in the trunk area. The woman quickly pulls her daughter away, keeps recording and later says she canceled the ride and called 911.

Los Angeles Police Department officers are then seen detaining the man on the sidewalk. Waymo says it is committed to keeping riders safe and earning the community's trust, calling this experience "unacceptable" and saying it is making changes to prevent anything like it from happening again.

The company told CBS LA its rider support team checked in with the rider during and after the incident, that it aims to provide a safe and inclusive experience for all, and that it already has ways to address situations like this, but is actively improving them

"We're committed to keeping our riders safe and earning the trust of the communities where we operate. This experience was unacceptable, and we are actively implementing changes to address this," Waymo said in a statement.

It is still not clear how the man got into the vehicle, or whether he stayed inside after a previous trip. The LAPD has not said if the man has been arrested.

Detectives are reviewing video and working with Waymo as the company expands its driverless service throughout LA. The company is reminding riders to double-check any car before getting in and to call 911 immediately if something doesn't look right.

I see them here in Los Angeles. They are taking work from human drivers like me.

I get paid to drive for LYFT. They are taking work from me.

About 30% of my passengers leave specks of dust, hair, crumbs, or drops of drinking water on the back seat. I always clean that stuff off the seat before the next ride.

One of my passengers even left broken glass on the backseat. I cut my fingers cleaning it. If you use a Waymo you could be sitting on dust, dirt, crumbs, or broken glass left by the previous passenger.

I understand they will eventually replace human drivers, but I wish we had an even playing field. I wish Waymo would get a ticket when their cars break the law.

Worrisome. I used the crosswalk recently in SF.

A driverless Waymo pulled up and did stop. But, if it won’t stop for a school bus, there is no guarantee it will not run down pedestrians and school kids.

A Waymo has killed a cat.

Humans are bigger and easy to see. The main danger will be for small animals like dogs and cats.

Of course parents need to keep an eagle eye out but sometimes just a second or two of distraction and. . . .

I don't trust the damn things. And they should have to obey traffic laws.

Driverless vehicles? Absolute insanity.
