Is your Christmas going to be big?

I ask this because really isn't. I'm staying at home, and, watching mostly home alone 2 on DVD.

We just got a flash flood warning for the area. I'm staying home and staying safe for Christmas.

Then tomorrow will head out to a niece's home to gather with family.

Are you planning on worshiping the Savior tonite or tomorrow with other believers at church? There are lots of visitors at churches Christmas eve. Just a thought....

We are hosting a small family gathering at our house Christmas Eve. We will be attending late night Mass at our daughter's church - she and our granddaughter are choir members so we will be going to hear them sing.

Christmas day we are invited over our daughter's/son-in-law's for Christmas dinner. No clue who else will be there.

Christmas will be good this year, whether it is a large gathering or small one.

Visiting with friends.

Christmas dinner at a very nice restaurant and lodge. Renting a cottage seaside. No tree, no gift giving. Egg nog, fruitcake, smoke ham biscuits, and conviviality.

We do gift giving for immediate family only - both my parents are gone and so are both of my husband's parents, so its really just gifts to both our daughters, our son-in-law, and our two grandchildren. My husband and I decide on a mutual gift for each other - one gift that we will both enjoy together.

Dinner will be the usual chips and dips (keeps everyone out of the kitchen so I am not tripping over people), spiral glazed ham, potatoes au gratin, caesar green beans, home baked corn bread and/or dinner rolls. Apple juice to drink . . . or ice water. We aren't big on alcohol though we do sometimes serve it but not this year as everyone will be driving to the next town over to hear our girls sing in the church choir.

No need to have a pile of gifts under the tree - give of oneself, the best gift of all. I heard someone say that spending time with someone is the best gift of all.

Lovely. Cornbread? Very old times country.

Got a recipe? Already made foods are often filled with stuff that one shouldn't be eating. Too many sugars and chemicals. Bread, especially white bread bought at the grocery store, is notorious for being bad for a person.

Unfortunately the fresh produce is often lacking. My Dad had a huge veggie garden - nothing like fresh veggies picked and cooked/eaten right then and there.

I don't take part, shop will be open as usual. Wednesday is a regular shopping day.

Most of my family live in another state.

I get paid to drive people around my city. The day before Christmas I will be busy driving people to Christmas parties and driving people home from the airport. Then I will have a small restful Christmas.
