You may live 5 years longer living in New York Than in Mississippi.

The Yale study used data from 26 years ago, so it is not relevant to today.

The demographics, conditions and other significant factors have changed considerably since then. An entire generation has come, and another one gone.

Immigration has changed the flavor and appeal of different states.

People have moved to different states.

The lifespan of women in blue states seemed artificially and questionably high since it grossly exceeded national averages. Yale demographic research is not necessarily gold standard. The Universities of Alabama or Kansas might present a very different story.

The QUALITY of life in blue states is higher in red states than in blue states.

People are moving out of blue states by the thousands and coming to red states.

The overall trend is changing in favor of red states.

The Southeast is now the automotive capital of the US.

Many other industries are moving here.

Major medical facilities and research.

Insurance, banking.

Music.

Inland waterway transportation.

Interstate Highway System.

Deep Port Facilities.

With Vanderbilt, Duke, Rice, University of North Carolina, and others, the playing field for top-notch education has been leveled.

I feel sorry for all those chickens roosting in their tiny, over-priced, multi-story coops in NYC, afraid to go out on the streets, even in daylight, because of the riff-raff Biden/Harris let in.

Gish, all that left to go elsewhere. Small wonder they are blue.

JuJu's Mom lived her entire life in Mississippi, making it to 100, outliving the Queen. Her Mom made it to 99.

My Aunt, a renowned Tennessee Artist, made it to 95.

Yankee studies tend to lie and make up stuff.

The only reason rednecks die under or at average is too much beer. They might hurt the numbers. The stress of NYC will shorten longevity. Not to mention the polluted air, especially along the DC to Boston corridor.

The demographics are very different today.

Stress in big cities and in corporation and government jobs is way up.

Stress and poor diet are robbers of longevity.

Questionable. But I suspect the people of Mississippi are of sound mind.

Its been going on since forever. The haves can afford housing, food, healthcare. The have-nots not so much. NY state has both haves and have-nots. Look at life expectancy of the different counties and compare it to the poverty stats. Like the saying goes follow the money. You'll have your answer. Red, blue, IMO they both suck.
