Dems in Ga block Republican tax shift scheme

good for the dems. republicans want to add even more sales taxes to cut local property taxes by raising sales taxes.

the state and or locals already collects over 30 cents a gallon on fuel, plus sales taxes on fuel, plus e splost, plus tsplost, plus lost, etc etc and the state collects 4 percent sales taxes.

the jackass gop under the gold dome can use that 4 percent sales tax they currently collect to elliminate/cut property taxes.

the reason i was given is because some idiots paid way too much for THEIR property they just bought and that effects how much everyone elses is worth. it never goes down when property values drop but it always goes up.

example, if the federal government is paying someone house payment or even just a majority of it then the seller can jack the price up and the new owner wont complain because they, like me, are most concerned about what comes out of their pocket.

example..payment is 2500 dollars a month on a piece of shit that the agent sales for 500,000....doesnt matter to new owner if the fed is paying 2000 of it and the happy new owner is only paying 500 out of pocket. getting the scheme?
house right down the road finally sold. owner was asking about 165000 last i heard and i wouldnt give 15000 for it. some deeply tanned individuals bought it and you can tell from looking they aint a manager at a fortune 500 company. already got junk cars in the yard.....and the first day they moved they accidently set the woods on fire...welcome to the country..

same way with renters.

I’m hearing from some unhappy homeowners over there that have owned their homes over 30 years in some cases. And just in the past year home values almost doubled and nothing has changed with their property physically or their neighborhood.

apparently they dont go by neighborhood. when i had an appraisal done before they compared the home out here with one out wacona drive and one out valdosta highway....you know. "close by".

I’ve been in my home for 32 years and I’ve just maintained it amd mine has doubled over here in Raycross .

State government sets the rules home local.governments have to evaluate property. Rather than change the rules the Republicans want to shift the tax burden and pretend they did something constructive.
