Copa America is the Gold Cup but for South America.

South America only has ten countries that play in their Confederation, so they invite guest countries to fill out the brackets. It’s far more prestigious and they definitely always play their A teams. The Gold Cup is played every two years which makes it less special and is pretty much just a US or Mexico champion.
