But the Trump administration has directly assaulted and is destroying all of the areas where had an advantage and which are our only chance to stay abreast of them. We had soft power and a strong alliance network of like minded countries. Trump hates alliances and we have been working hard to erode NATO and our broader network of partnerships, diplomatically, militarily, and economically. We had the best higher education and scientific research ecosystem in the world, driving new scientific advances and high tech innovation and industry. Trump has eviscerated scientific funding and is aggressively attacking universities as center of thought and research. And we attracted the best talent from around the world in all fields, bringing the most dynamic and ambitious people to the US, integrating them in society, and reaping the benefits of their hard work and ideas.
