Happened to me when I was a teen and my family drove up to Mt Rushmore. Was a bit of a downer for all of us. Could see this happening in the month of March.  Previous Message
Anyway, Rapid City is a beautiful area with plenty to do, depending on kids' interest.
In March plenty of blizzards to be had. Miserable time of year to go.
Hell, we've been there in June and had to buy coats at the gift shop because we were unprepared.
