New LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin has officially brought six assistants with him to Baton Rouge from Ole Miss.
That contingent of coaches is headlined by offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr., who will serve in the same role at LSU. Per his term sheet that the Daily Advertiser obtained Monday night, Weis agreed to a three-year, $6 million deal. By the end of his contract, Weis will make $2.1 million in 2028, making him one of the highest paid assistant coaches in college football.
The Daily Advertiser also obtained term sheets for Kiffin's five other assistants that followed him from Oxford, Mississippi, to LSU, including Joe Cox, George McDonald, Sawyer Jordan, Nick Savage and Mike Williams.
Savage, head strength and conditioning coach, and McDonald, wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator, are set to $800,000 in their first seasons with the Tigers and then receive a pay bump to $850,000 for their second years on their deals.
Cox, who will serve as co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach under Kiffin at LSU, signed a two-year, $1.6 million deal.
