There's rumblings that an expanded playoff might encroach onto the traditional (*since 2009) Saturday for the game.

I like the Army-Navy game both for its football and its place in college football culture but I think it's losing some of its luster when it has to be exclusively set apart from the rest of the calendar. I think The Troops can handle other teams playing at the same time as them.

Also, Army and Navy have been having some good years lately. Play the game before the conclusion of the regular season and let them compete for conference championships, better bowls, and possibly even a playoff appearance. Create a special block for it the day after Thanksgiving if it really need no other games happening at the same time but it's embarrassing for the sport and the country to have to have to unnecessarily coddle this one game.
