Punching the ball out is a skill/mindset that can be taught and they deserve credit for that.
But it’s also not sustainable (as shown by what happened for most of the rest of the season) and is not at all indicative of the defense’s overall ability. I do think poor recruiting was a bigger issue than anything schematically, so I’m not saying Henry was terrible. But I’m pushing back on the idea of him being better than Lunney, I think Lunney is about as good of a coordinator as a school like Illinois is ever going to get.
