He wasn’t that good with the Cubs and he had no defensive position. I wanted the Cubs to trade him for years at his peak value. I always thought he and Contreras were both the symbolic players for why the Cubs fell off and their stubbornness under the Theo regime to resist evolution. Had there been a DH at the time I’d have maybe thought differently. But credit to him for developing the way he has.
