"A Gold Medal" ESPECIALLY in a team sport being played by professionals means absolutely zip to me.
I get it if you're a speed skater and this is going to be your 15 minutes of fame before going back to finish your degree....but an NHL player?
I'm guessing 98.9% of the rosters of either team would take a Stanley Cup over a Gold Medal in a glorified All Star tourney (where all but 2 teams are mostly comprised of players that will never see a minute of NHL ice time).
