People are mad he's good (which is why people weren't mad at Sincere or Amani). People are mad that Michigan is better than us (or has performed better than us to date).
People also ignore Illinois' role in Morez's departure. People also ignore that if they had a kid, they'd be fine with them going wherever the biggest NIL bag was (in this case, it was Michigan).
To me, those factors alone negate any true ill will I would have towards the guy.
So to me there's more to it than just location. A bit of ill will because he rolls to an in-conference school makes sense. But levels of hate and animosity seem over the top to me.

He went to Michigan. I’m surprised that you’re feigning confusion about this.

Why do people hold Morez to a different standard that they hold Sincere or Hansberry?
Brad and Chester had a falling out. Dominos fall.
Are people more mad at Morez because he's better than those other two?
That doesn't seem fair.

We wanted to build our scheme around a stretch big that is the hub of the offense, and we wanted him to accept a complementary role to Tomi as a result of that.
Michigan gave him more of the role he wanted and has followed through on that. Plus he got way more money for it.
I know we wanted him back but in some ways it felt kind of mutual based on the extent to which we were or were not willing to prioritize him.
