A little surprised that Byard hasn’t been locked into a longer term deal, but I don’t think I’m upset about it? I know he played well last year, but he’s getting up there in age and I say some things of him wanting 2/$16 and I think that’s too rich for me in a deep FA and draft class. I’m very not sure about what the Bears should do at LT, but I kind of hope they re-sign Braxton Jones on the cheap and have him and Benedet battle it out. No way do I want to draft another LT high at this point, wouldn’t want to spend a pile of meh on a $20MM T that may not be better than Benedet. Jones isn’t great, but he’s serviceable and I wonder if his injuries will scare teams off. Could be one of those guys that gets a contract that makes your head spin, given what we’ve seen from tackles in FA recently. Gimme D’Marco Jackson back too. I know this never happens, but I wouldn’t be opposed to the Bears sitting out the first day or even two of FA entirely and just seeing what falls through the cracks with LB and S. I’ve found the potential markets thrown out there by some insiders for Edmunds and Moore baffling, but I hope what people are hearing is right. Getting anything for Edmunds deal is a gift and some rumblings that they could get a 3rd for Moore? In a heartbeat, but think it’ll be more like a 6th or worse. Think it’ll be an interesting year for Bears comp pick sluts like yours truly. Byard and Nahshon Wright are sure to be included in the formula and I think Brisker, Braxton, CGJ and Jackson all have a shot to be included. Hell, the way DL are in short supply, who knows what kind of deal Shryon Troyinka, Billings, Williams and Robinson get.  Previous Message
