And they are developing and deploying, worldwide, staggering amounts of solar power generating capacity along with dirt cheap electric vehicles.
The US is still a significant carbon emitter, but we are long past the point where worldwide progress depends on US technology or leadership. We have completely ceded the field here, and the adults on the planet are going ahead working on the problem while we eat paste in the corner.

but pretty much anyone Gen X and beyond doesn't really care about the environment, especially if it means being asked to make any sort of sacrifice. All people really care about is the economy. Everything else is secondary. People will switch to electric cars when it makes economic sense to do so.

You can finally switch the entire transition thesis from climate change (not popular) to affordability and not having to rely on a strait controlled by an enemy 6,000 miles away (I would assume pretty popular).
Such an easy sell right now. Especially when combined with the data center shit.
