I have one nephew who’s going there next year, and another one will probably go there the year after
It’s ~$15K less per year for Iowa State than it would be for U of I in-state, and Iowa State is aggressively recruiting kids to come there.  Previous Message Previous Message

Believe he's going to study biology (possibly genetics?) with a plan for vet school. ISU will be cheaper out of state with scholarships than Illinois in-state.
It probably also helped ISU that 1) he visited on a great weather summer day and on the day they were playing in the Sweet 16 (visit was over by game time), 2) his Illinois visit was on the day of the snowstorm that shut down many schools across Central Illinois for a few days, and 3) he has a few buddies going to ISU.
