Airline flight demand is more elastic than driving. People will substitute.
Do a meeting over Teams instead of flying out. Substitute driving for vacation or picking a different vacation spot you can drive to. Much harder to do with automobile gasoline demand; it’s more inelastic. You have to drive to work in the mornings, your kids practice, your doctor’s appointment, etc. Fresh groceries have to arrive at the store, you have to keep buying them, so you literally eat the price increase.  Previous Message Gasoline companies seem to have figured it out. Just raise the price of tickets. What was a $500 fare in January is now $750. People will bitch about the increase, but if they want to fly, they’ll pay the increase. Nobody likes higher prices at the pump, but we are still filling up. Is it as simple as everyone needs to drive, but flying is a luxury? TTMLI5
