South is less personally racist, more integrated (you find whites and blacks in the same work places, restaurants, youth sports, etc) than the Midwest by a mile.
Not a utopia, not perfect, by no means has it been like what this board thinks “the South” is like in the last 25 years.

Talked to a mixed race couple recently who considered moving from Colorado to Georgia. They couldn’t afford Atlanta proper so visited some more rural areas outside Atlanta. They figured out very quickly that they were not welcome in the communities they visited. Previous Message
