i.e. tear down the current barn and build new? i think that would be the better long term move, would make sure you got your electrical, insulation, and plumbing right. barndominium might not have the aesthetic you are going for, so maybe a bad recommendation on my part.
i've lived in old homes before, kind of a pain in the ass, the guts just aren't modern, there's always something. you end up having a house of Theseus.
