As Midwestern of a term both are, kind of surprised you're not familiar with it.

For the record, when my kids are completely out of the house I'd be all for a shouse - just want a partial basement with it. (Way too many tornados these days.) Don't need as much space in terms of regular living area, but expandable for parties, etc. And I can finally have my indoor basketball halfcourt.
