Pursuit rule: Instead of a ball on first contact being dead if it crosses above or outside the antenna, a team can pursue the ball, bring it back above or outside the antenna, then play it between the antennae. Rationale: Internationally the rule is allowed, the goal is to increase rallies. It used to be a rule for women's college, but after a ref didn't GTFO of the way and broke his wrist, they abolished it. The men play under a different rule set, and they have always used it.

Subs: D2 and D3 wanted more subs. NAIA already has unlimited subs. Rationale: More participation.

Side switching: Too much time switching benches and possibly having people still heated running into each other. So they will switch sides after the second set, and possibly if there's a fifth set and a team requests to play on the other side from where they played in the fourth set. There will be no more set switches at 8 points in the 5th.

Center line rule: Reverting back to the more strict international interpretation. USA Volleyball uses a more liberal interpretation based on safety hazards being present. NCAA women's will now make the foot being completely over a fault; USA Volleyball lets play go on if there's no player around to present a safety hazard.
