Not too different here (other than the different school part) but you have to abuse it
If your kid is well adjusted and academically on track, nobody’s going to worry about it if you only do it once a year. Hell, I used to go to India for 6 weeks at a time (including a 2-3 week winter school break) every 2-3 years.
