And I guess I get it at the age. He's better than everyone on the field and knows it and I'm just a volunteer coach for pre-K ymca ball who has to spend a decent amount of my time simply coaxing some of the more timid players onto the field.

I'd love to be able to make progress on teamwork and sportsmanship (he tantrumed a couple times getting subbed off) but I'd settle for ways to structure the game to even it out a little.

One thing I've done is be a lot more strict when calling the ball out on him. In addition to being the only coach, the coaches at this age are responsible for officiating the game. We tend to opt to keep the play going when the ball is just over the line for the sake of engagement but I've gone to an immediate whistle with him.
