Ratings to follow but some stats

- 104 miles walked (including non-golf) in 7 days
- Highest temperature 57 degrees
- Lowest Wind Chill 35
- Highest winds 37 steady, gusts in high 40s at both Gullane first day and The Old Course
- Lowest winds - It was under 20 mph for 9 at Dunbard and 9 at Carnoustie.
- Number of times I heard FORE on the old course 63
- Most frequent comment from locals “You should have been here any time the last 6 weeks, weather was perfect”
- Best deals - Played Carnoustie, Dunbar, North Berwick and Gullane with members. Cost between 20 and 50 GBP for each.
- Number of holes when I didn’t wear 2 gloves, including putting 27

Craziest 2 hole stretch … made double on the downhill 340 yard 7th at gullane hitting driver - 3 wood - 3wood punch run followed by eagling the 423 yard 8th with a 15 foot putt.

Got it down by the end of the trip but always had 1 - 2 holes that got away. Finished with a scorecard 76 on The Old with X doubles on both 7 and 11 (11 truly unplayable, ball wouldn’t stop) and a 75 at North Berwick in on and off rain at 20 - 30MPH winds.

You really have a way of making golf sound miserable*

but open for free as a big public park - with dogs not only welcomed but encouraged. You can walk the entire course if you like.

It’s a super cool way to see the course.

On a related note I had 2 of the craziest bogies today.

8th hole, 3 shots on a short par 4. 2 went in the hazard, 1 went in the hole.

15th hole, pulled tee shot left, tried to punch out through trees but caught it fat and went into red stakes. Dropped and hit gap wedge that I pulled badly left into more trees but it got through. My buddy said it was "really good" and yeah it was on the lip with about 1/4 of the ball over the hole.

Looking forward to your rankings. We will be there the last week of May next year and playing a bunch of the same courses - Muirfield, North Berwick, Dumbarnie, Carnoustie, Elie, and whatever St. Andrews courses we can manage.

Sounds like it’s the same week you went. I don’t mind a wee bit of SCOTLAND weather but your week seems like it was a bit extra.
