After 2.5 years, the soles on my cheap Amazon work boots have finally worn out. They’re thin in parts and compressed too much in others. I took them in to see if I could get them resoled and now, I get it. Because of their cheap construction, you can’t resole them.

I just ordered a pair of waterproof Thorogood replacements that have great reviews and are able to be resoled. I’ll update after I receive them to let you know…

Initial thoughts…

1. Whoa these are taller? Aren’t they both 6 inch boots? Looks like the thorogoods measure 6 in not including the sole. The knockoffs seem to measure the whole boot.

2. These are stiffer than I remember the old ones being outta the box. The leather is thicker and likely a better quality. They’re also membrane lined because of water proofing.

I’m gonna wear them a bunch this weekend to start breaking them in before I have to stand in them for 8 hours Monday.

…enough to handle hoses and fittings bumping it. If I get my foot run over by my forklift, the steel toe is gonna matter either way.

Who wants us to produce gin for a concept they have. I’m stoked! It would double our production and it’d just be distillation for them.
