We got to town early Wednesday afternoon and went to the children's museum. A good time was had by all.

Then we went to the garage food hall and got sushi (not good) and beer (very good).

Then we went across the street to Pins, played patio Pong, foosball, and mechanical hockey.

A pretty great day.

Yesterday we went to the zoo so that Jax and I could do the rhino adventure that I bought her as a Christmas present (she's a big rhino fan). That was incredible! Getting to pet a rhino was not something we ever thought we could do.

We liked the rest of the zoo, even though it was small and the heat was deadly. We only spent 4 hours there, with a lot of indoor breaks.

Then we rested a few hours in the hotel and went to Abandoned Station for dinner, drinks, and games.

Very cool spot, but it gives the impression online that it's bigger than it is. They were apologetic about having only 1-2 people working and about it taking a long time to make our food because it's just a pizza oven that fits one item at a time.

But the food was good, the games were great, and the beer is pretty decent too.

This morning we got up, went to cracker barrel like good crackers on vacation, and drove back to our campground.

If you want to go full German... The Rathskeller is great. They have an indoor area that is family friendly, but the biergarten is 21+ which is stupid, but whatever.

There’s one in my burb of Carmel. It’s ok. I think Splash Island in Plainfield is probably the best. There’s another one in Greenfield called Freedom Springs.

In that vein, there’s also a couple of indoor go kart tracks which are nice. The one in speedway is owned by Sarah Fisher. The area is cool over there, it’s Speedway. There’s an electric go kart place in Fishers which I think is more fun.

SIK is closer to downtown, right next to IMS. My only experience there was in the winter, it was freezing, and dark. K1 is a better experience, but it’s in an industrial park in Fishers. It’s close to some fun stuff, but it’s another drive, where SIK has restaurants and breweries on that gentrified drag of Speedway.

Looking at it further, looks like SIK also had duckpin bowling and whatnot.

There’s lots of indoor stuff. State Museum is cool too. In average too old for the Children’s Museum but the sports complex there is fun (but outdoors)

The new Indy Motor Speedway Museum is supposed to be cool.

IMS museum would be my next goto if you wanna be indoors.

I would have said Connor Prairie, but it’s completely outdoors right now, they’re massively upgrading the indoor experience but it’s totally shut down now.

There’s a fun Fowling place just east of downtown and a Pins Mechanical on Mass Ave that’s fun. Newfields can be fun, but I dunno if they’re into Art Museums.

I wanted to do the bottleworks area and pins, but they don't open until 4p*

We were upset to learn 16 bit is 21+. I think my kids would love it*
