You were a great listen. Truly. I was on the road last night, had never really listened to tennis

on the radio, and your ability to convey each stroke was impressive. You have to do so much more work than the TV commentators. And, your chemistry with the rest of the people on the broadcast was great.

As to Coco...its not quite Ankiel, because it's been an issue for a long, long time, on both the serve and forehand. Which makes it remarkable that she's done what she's done so far. Absurd competitor. But these are truly technical issues that CAN be fixed, as opposed to a yips situation.

On one hand I don't think Bonzi shoulda gotten a first serve, only because very little time occurred by that silly photographer running on the side there. Not 100% sure of the rules but I'm assuming the chair ump played by the rulebook there. I just disagree with it.

But on the other hand, Medvedev acted like a complete LUNATIC on center court whipping up that drunk-ass NY crowd like he did.

Honestly I feel that he shoulda been disqualified because of all his antics. I'm wondering if the chair ump let things go because the NY crowd is always nuts to begin with and it could have led to even worse things.

Just glad that Bonzi pulled out the win. Medvedev is a dumbass.

But he's just NOT in a good place mentally as a professional tennis player now. He's a total mess right now and his lack of wins is clearly showing. And last night was just like falling over Niagara Falls. He's just in a terrible place mentally.

I agree with you. He needs to get back to the drawing board and likely just needs to step away from the game for perhaps the rest of this season. Try to regroup with his family and coaching staff, get your mind in a good place and start up anew in 2026.

I think it's because it's such a high pressure individual sport. When you play poorly, there is usually no one to blame but yourself, and the pressure can just chew people up and spit them out. There have been a few high profile flamouts over the year. The Mardy Fish 30 for 30 is a great watch if you haven't seen it.

Is that its a mix of two things:
1) Carlos and Jannik have taken things to a different level, and everyone is having to match their ability to hit huge pace all the time. Meddy is one of the very few who hasn't made little tweaks (Ruud, for example, playing indoors at the start of the year to work on flattening out his forehand).
2) His 10 year relationship with his coach Gilles has probably come to a close. It's time for someone with a better mental approach to step in here.
