Otherwise for pure cash back, there’s a whole bunch. Here’s a run down you can peruse. The best one honestly just comes down to your spend.

Denver is an example - the Centurion is usually full and not designed all that well. Right down the hallway is a new Admirals Club that is a lot more chill and has a better layout. Granted you need to by flying AA but it's my primary airline. If I'm flying WN I'll put my name on the waitlist when I arrive and the airport and brave the masses.

Same with the new Admirals Club in PHL.

But we easily made back the old fee on the entertainment credit, Walmart+, uber cash, and hotel perks alone. The Resy credit, Uber One, and expanded hotel and entertainment credit should cover the fee increase. And my wife is pretty excited about the lululemon credit.

And that’s without airline perks (which we actually don’t use as much). The coupon book is just icing on the cake. We usually come out ahead, but you do really have to stay on top of it.

Yeah it's a grand a year now... gonna stick another year, and see how it goes...

...I'm not a fan of having to go through and accept rewards... these should just be part and parcel of having rewards cards with fees... same goes for the Citi AA card.

I do like the tech, WM+ and other perks... Clear, TSA, etc.

The pre check security lines are almost always shorter, but even if they are not, getting through is much simpler—no removing shoes, laptops, belts, etc. Well worth it, IMO.

Usually there's no line. I'm almost exclusively AA in terminal 4, so maybe that is the difference?

The regular line has more lanes for less people, as was the case flying out of Las Vegas yesterday. Clear is just the next step.
Similarly, there were 91 people in boarding group 1 yesterday with overhead space for 65 bags. It caused mass hysteria with business folks.

and at least in the airports I’ve been to around the country, the lines move faster and are usually shorter.

I had clear and it’s probably worth it if you travel a lot but in Atlanta Clear is often no faster than the facial recognition precheck process.

So yeah, in that example...to justify the annual fee, nowbi have to spend money at lulu...and I'm guessing there isn't much that is $75 or less.

There’s a bunch of nice credits with this higher Platinum fee. $100 in Resy credits a quarter will easily offset that higher fee. Can also use their digital credit of $300/year for YTTV now.

There’s a bunch of nice credits with this higher Platinum fee. $100 in Resy credits a quarter will easily offset that higher fee. Can also use their digital credit of $300/year for YTTV now.

If you’re on top of it in terms of credits, these seem like good improvements.

If you’re not, paying $800/year for an AMEX platinum is a tough pill to swallow.
