Valid. Nice town. But LOTS of growth / development in the last decade or so

including a lot driven by out of state folks / money.
The main street / downtown area has some nice shops and restaurants / bars, which I agree can be very scene-y.
The university campus is just far enough away from that area though to feel like the two are separate.
Then there's the rest of the city and region which is great in its own right.

On the one hand, you can look at the overall records and general level of success and it’s good to very good. But they seem to be consistently a step below the top teams. And the fans expect to challenge for titles and win the conference. Not every year, but sometimes.

Going into 2005, he had a 5-game losing streak against top-10 Oklahoma, and 8-game losing streak against top-10 teams overall.

I'm sure somewhere in the summer of 2005 Austin Detlef was demanding Brown be fired.

After 2005 his record against elite competition wasn't any better either.

Could the Oregon job be better than an NFL gig?

Less pressure as he has equity at Oregon, and I imagine his salary is as good as he'll get in the NFL.

With college moving to NFL type GM & player personnel departments, he likely has constant recruiting obligations.

I also read that his parent(s) are teachers and that he may enjoy the instruction aspect of college coaching.
