If that was the case, it would just be a rotating cast of past-their-prime country music guys.

They're trying to get people who wouldn't normally watch the game to tune in for halftime. Then the hope is that some percentage of those people will also watch the game, and that some percentage of *those* people will like what they see and become fans. The NFL virus is running out of growth opportunities in the usual places, so they're cross-contaminating.

The delta between a dose and toxicity isn't as great as other pain relievers. And it's affect on the liver can be really bad. This tends to be an issue for infants where parents mix up doses between the various strengths out there (infant, child, adult). I've also read that people who take Tylenol to OD are much much more likely to die than other pain relievers.

I'm in Peoria (Bartonville) right now for my 35th high school reunion

Man, being here right now, I sort of feel like an anthropologist. Peoria right now IMO is kind of a microcosm of what happening in the rest of the country, as it's always kind of been a bell cow of "will it play in Peoria".

Where my sister lives (Dunlap school district) is thriving and doing as well as I have ever seen Peoria doing, while Bartonville, where I lived and grew up, just feels sad and depressed. The number of people I see who have literally ate themselves into a disability is crazy. I'm overweight, and I feel like I am middle of the bell curve here.

These video gaming machines that are in every single bar in every single small town are incredibly destructive, IMO.

This month is Caterpillar's centennial, and it's kind of sad to realize that those good jobs that propped Peoria up for 100 years seem to not really exist anymore.

Also, high school reunions are wild. It's fun to catch up with people, but having awkward conversations with people you have nothing in common with and barely know is really emotionally draining.

In this case, my high school soccer coach, who was also my best friend's father growing up, was being inducted into the high school's hall of fame. He's one of those people that made me the person I am today and I wanted to honor his contribution to my life. I also was overdue for a trip to visit my parents, so it all kind of fell together. I'm not sure I need to come to the next one, but I'm glad I went to this one. As I get older, I am realizing I need to be better about keeping in touch with people. My parents are pushing 80, so I'm increasingly coming to grips with their mortality. I know I shit on this place more than I should, but it's genuinely good to be back.

My grandmother passed away in the spring so I was back in ECI. My father is 80 and my mom 68. The majority of my family (whom I'm not super close with) moved on and retired elsewhere.

I've now lived in the Bay Area for almost 18 years. It's as long as I lived in Gibson City. After my parents pass, I can't imagine coming home for a visit unless another very small handful of people pass away.

I'm not close on Illinois sports enough to travel for a homegame. I'm fine with texting the few friends I have that remain. I just don't see it.

I don't hate it...it's just hard to get to and I don't see a reason why I'm make a special trip.
