. Lots of fun art galleries
- walk around Fairmont Le Château Frontenac hotel area at top of the hill in Old QC. There’s a boardwalk with great views.
- Notre Dame church was nice and free to walk in and look around
- pretty
- we walked around the old battlement walls
- most neighborhoods just outside Old Town are fun to walk around.
- Buy a Nordiques shirt! Sell them all over town

If you’re driving between QC and Montreal. Town of Rougemont, just east of Montreal has a bunch of Cideries in the area. Cidrerie Michel Jodoin Was the best of the bunch.

I’ll reply to this with Montréal stuff.

- Brasserie Dieu du Ciel! - great Brewery.
- for bagels, Fairmont is more of a bag of bagels place as opposed to single bagel ready to eat with a spread. St-Viateur is more of a cafe, get a bagel toasted or a sandwich.
- Saint Paul street in old town is shopping area
- China Town had a bunch of good food. Harmonie and Coco are good pastery shops. Nouilles de Lan Zhou (Noodles). Sans Soleil Bar (Sushi)
- we really enjoyed Liverpool House (sister restaurant to Joe Beef)
- The Fine Art Museum was very good
- 2 really good sandwich shops: Mono (by art museum) and Ciccio's (Old Montreal)
- Jean Talet market
- neighborhoods: Le Plateau-Mont-Royal & Villeray
- Café Olimpico - coffee
- La Banquise - poutine. Supposed to be good, didn’t make it there

very good recs. I always hit up Schwartz's and Nouilles de Lan Zhou when I'm there*

- Recommend getting multiple day transit pass
- like ATL said Schwartz Deli is worth it. Get the Smoked Meat sandwich and some pickles with the Black Cherry soda. Don’t bother with any other option

Quebec City
- visit Montmorency Falls, it’s about 15 minutes outside the city
- we also visited Orleans Island across the bridge from the falls. Very scenic and a handful of cideries and shops and produce farms you can stop at. Divey poutine shack (Friterie de l'Île) right over the bridge
- Breweries - Nano Cinco and La Barberie
- Restaurants- L'Antiquaire Buffet (great for breakfast or dinner, had good poutine), Saint-Jean Poisson et Frites (really good fish&chips), Nina Pizza, Le Billig (crepes). Café La Maison Smith (Coffee, pastries), Érico - Chocolaterie,
- Rue de Petit Champlain for shopping. Visit a shop called F*ck La Mode . Lots of fun art galleries

Bought a Canadiens and 2 Nordique hats (one for me, one for LBK).

He also said that the Hawks looked good, but young.

Prices are insane. To make matters worse, it’s the 1st time we’ll have to buy airfare for both kids. I don’t know how families do this shit / now understand the Midwest obsession of driving

if you go to the parc on certain sundays, you can hear/see/smell the "tam tams", or a drum circle.

the botanic garden (near olympic stadium) and biosphere dome (on the island where the world's fair was) are nice if that's your thing.

definitely try the malty bagels at either st viator or fairmount (it's like kopp's vs. leons on which is better.)

dieu du ciel is a must for the beer.

le banquise is the place for poutine.

barrance in le plateu is great for food and drinks (peruvian). the area in general has good restaurants (we also liked yokato yokabai ramen, for example.)

the jean talon market is nice to check out. as is the area around mcgill. there are also lots of nice bookstores all over the city.

in quebec city, keep in mind there's not much outside the old city. catch cirque du soleil if you can.

la buche in Quebec City is a good one.

As for Montreal, old Montreal has the cute streets to walk around and it’s a great central place to stay, but you’re going to want to get out into the neighborhoods to eat and hang out (le plateau, mile end, saint henri, verdun).
