Sorta...his sorta heir apparent has stepped into the role of "Head Distiller"...

We let Bruce remain as Master Distiller Emeritus...as he basically founded the distillery. I would imagine he retains that title until he passes away and then we'll elevate Kevin to full Master Distiller.

Kevin Aslan is the guy who took over the role of Head Distiller. The only job he's ever had (as an adult) was / is for our distillery. He worked with Bruce every day for like 13 years until Bruce retired.

Bruce was/is a legend...James Beard awards, American Distilling Institute lifetime acheivement awards, etc etc.

Kevin is really good (great) at new product innovations. All of the barrel finishes. Flavor profiles. Recipe development. Contract services..etc. Plus he's the pony-tail whiskey guys whiskey guy. Articulate and quirky...does a TON of media and market trips.

That said, he doesn't do a ton of the actual production...that's more Mike and I. If this place were the Wonka factory, Kevin would be Willy Wonka and Mike and I would be Oompa Loompas.

Southern is just lazy on smaller high quality brands that don't pay bonus sales commission to their reps for selling a product. I know Southern has accounts with everyone but their reps are largely poor
