Texas Tech is doing their best to boost their pretty meh metrics by currently winning 41-11 against an actual solid mid-major in Winthrop (current #122).

Texas Tech at #26 right now and we need them to stay in top 30 for it to be Q1, curious to see what kind of bump they could get if they keep their foot on the gas.

Mihailo Petrovic could honestly be considered a bigger edge case than this guy, given the age difference. The fact he was drafted is what makes it unique, but since he never signed and also never played in college, it doesn’t seem that crazy to me.

thing I saw was the pass to Jake Davis at the end of the first half. Davis biffed the layup, but damn that pass was an absolute rope from 35 feet through the entire Missouri defense. No idea how Wagler saw it.

Mizzou is really really bad. But still, that’s the biggest win we’ve had over a P5 team in like 20 years. So that’s not nothing.

This was our second most 3 point attempts at 33. We put up 37 versus both Jackson State and Colgate. This was our second highest 3 point percentage (.455). We had .459 against Jackson State. So we took and made a lot of shots.

But there is enough sample size at this point to suggest that this is a much better shooting team than last year. Only Andrej appears to be a subpar shooter. Kylan is still not great at 30%, but that’s manageable since he’s not high volume (and we don’t need him to be).

Everyone else is 33% or above, with a bunch of guys at 35%+

Very reasonable to expect us to shoot 33%+ most nights. Definitely better than last year

With Keaton at the point and shooters all around him, the spacing is incredible and opens everything up for Andrej when we need him to drive

last night sure was a good example of why I’d never want to go all the way in the other direction. Obviously there’s a middle ground, but watching that Miznoz team have to aimlessly drive into a packed lane to attempt tough 2’s all night was a tough (but enjoyable) watch. Reminded me a bit of some of the Groce era teams.

Basically calling him a cold-blooded killer on the court.

I found it a little humorous because Keaton is just a skinny, 18yo freshman who didn't have all the stars and hype behind his name. So I personally wasn't expecting much out of him, even after learning he would probably start due to the injury from Petrovic. Kinda thought he'd be a band-aid until Petrovic returned.

But to expect this kind of meteoric rise on a national scale and to see his name land in NBA 1st round drafts next summer?

Casey Jacobsen behind the mic couldn't even believe it.

The only other player in Illini BB history that could do a silly shot like that and make it look easy and effective was maybe Frank Williams.

I was at that game.

While that buzzer beater was certainly fun as hell, both teams were just not all that good that season.

That MO team was straight up HOT GARBAGE and they were literally in the game up to the very end. IL should have won by 25+ based on just talent alone.

If Rice doesn't hit that shot and the game goes into OT, who knows what happens.

When they don't, we win by 30+ in a snoozer.

Problem is, we rarely take the BR game seriously. I don't care what Underwood says in the pressers. The players just don't take this game seriously. Heck, even Ayo didn't win a single BR game in his 3 years here...and we were much more talented than MO was. We barely won last year which was almost embarrassing as MO was not that good last year.

If MO plays hard and inspired, they have a very good change to win. Otherwise this really should be no contest.
