Illinois head wrestling coach Mike Poeta has been placed on indefinite administrative leave.

“He will remain away from the program while the University conducts an investigation into potential violations of his employment agreement stemming from possible noncompliance with University fiscal control policies,” a release from Illinois Athletics said.

Assistant coach Jeremy Hunter will serve as acting head coach.

Social Misfit who wants to coach Illinois women's basketball.

...are all about non-compliance, presuambly a way to avoid paying out contracts, and it's becoming more prevalent as athletic departments need to preserve cash. Just saw another one the other day...

With Poeta I assume there's something significant here because the team has been getting better... especially with 0 resources relative to several other B1G schools... his performance doesn't seem to be an issue
