Contractor still not apologizing. Previous Message Greetings from Australia, y'all. Having an addition put on to my house. I have four cats. The contractor is aware of the pet situation, as we do have a small catio, and she's met the cats. The first time they violated my trust, they began cutting a new doorway without informing me, and I came home an hour in to the process, and thank God, the cats were all so freaked out that they were hiding. Took an hour to find them all, but they're there. Yesterday, while asleep halfway across the world, I got a call from my ex-wife (who lives a block away) that one of the cats has gone missing, because a sub contractor has left open a door for a while. It is now 28 hours later, and the cat is hanging around near the house, but is scared to death, and they haven't captured him yet. Obviously, I"m livid, and just unclear what to do. I have an invoice that was due today, but haven't paid, mostly because the contractor hasn't even apologized. Any advice here chat?

Put a litter box outside. The smell usually brings them back.*

Put food and water out for the cat and a blanket from your home

Try putting the food and blanket inside the cat carrier and they probably will go in. Will probably have to go away and come back few hours later if skittish.
