Or make it like the Hunger games, where there are a bunch of packets scattered around the tower with random things. A squirt gun full of oil, single shot taser, 3 baseballs, a knife, etc.

He's climbing up the corner where there are plenty of easy hand holds and he can stand on each ledge as he goes up. I imagine he does tougher climbs (climbs with more difficult hand holds, fewer spots to get an easy break, etc) regularly
