Is Milwaukee not safe?

I have never been concerned downtown, but maybe I am naive or used to the mean streets of Chicago. Previous Message actually a few blocks south of it is that area safe/walkable? i've never been to milwaukee, and the hotels closest to the venue won't accommodate all of us in one room, so we may have to walk a bit to ones closer to the river

I think so. We were in the same vicinity this summer. We stayed a night at the Hilton.
