Overshadowed by Denny McLain, he was a damn good lefty pitcher, and what he did for the Tigers against the Cardinals was amazing, out-dueling Bob Gibson in Game 7

A boyhood hero of mine as an isolated Tiger fan in ECI.

A great series with a number of storylines. Kaline finally getting his chance in a World Series and coming through. The move of Mickey Stanley to shortstop, a position he hadn't played since high school.

What Lolich did was incredible, and will certainly never be done again. And he wasn't the game one starter, so he was really pitching on short rest.
