Mirk and JAKEDAVIS are my #1 and #2 priorities in that order and by a wide margin... would love to see the brothers Ivisic back.

Andrej would be great but I wouldn't cry over...

I think after Wisconsin I hit the point where I actively want to jettison Petrovic, unless there's something else going on with him we don't know about. Jakstys looked OK at times but I don't think he's cut out for this level so probably time for him to go succeed in the MVC

He’d need to be willing to come back to a bench role that he’d have to earn minutes for, in my opinion. Not for a role replacing Boswell or Wagler. Feels like the path to a bigger role would require showing himself in an enhanced bench role next year and showing enough promise for Brad to feel comfortable elevating his role in year 3.

2 seeds are much better vs 15s than 3s are vs 14s.

Also in the sweet 16 2 seeds tend to be much better vs the seeds they would play than 3 seeds are.

In the 2nd round and elite 8 the records aren't much different.

So the biggest difference is that 3 seeds aren't historically very good against 2 seeds. 2 seeds are 45-29. But one of those 3 seed upsets was us in 2024!

really good team in a 2nd seed. Look at the current projected 2 seeds and I'd rather avoid playing those teams. 3 seeds are still very good, but I'd prefer to eventually play one of those teams than the 2 seeds.

When all of that shakes out, I'd rather be a 2 than a 3 as I think Fla probably overtakes one of the 2 seeds.

Looks to me like there's a really strong 10-12 teams at the top and then once you get into that 4 seed line there's a big drop off.

So just get a top 3 seed and then its going to be more about the specific match ups in your draw.

BTW, just want to say Hummer really played great basketball yesterday.

Not really a game I would seek out to rewatch in it's entirety.

Granted it's freaking Indiana and it's always nice to kick the every-loving CRAP out them at any time.

But aside from Mirk doing a college impersonation of Dirk Nowitzki or something, it's not really anything I would move heaven and earth to rewatch over again.

Just do a YouTube search and watch the 3-5 min clips out there and that should suffice.

He was fouled 3 times hard and no call. It’s beyond absurd at this point. I think underwood’s complaining got him a couple calls early. But then the refs seemed to say they can’t all be fouls, all while IU played they can’t call them all. It’s as unfair as I’ve ever seen one player called in the league period.

refs subconsciously want to call a game relatively even. Fouls are already 5-2 against IU and Wagler drives in and the refs are getting out the microscope to keep from making it 6-2.

But just look at the stats on paper. Foul margin vs opponent, IU fouls 2.5 more per game. We foul 6.5 fewer per game. So going into yesterday all else equal you would expect IU to have something like 8 more fouls than us just in the ordinary course of business. And I think you absolutely could have called that game 18-10 in our favor without having to make a single controversial call.

But instead it ends up 10-10 and the refs probably pat themselves on the back for being “fair”. But they weren’t, they screwed us on something like 8 calls. And a balance of 8 incorrrect calls going against one team is about as bad a screw job as you’ll ever see. But it gets mostly unnoticed.

Think about TSJ two years ago or Fears this year. If you drive into the paint at 100 mph it’s really easy to make it seem like a car crash by flailing when you get body contact. The refs are almost obligated to call something because it’s so visible to everyone watching.

When you’re slowly weaving through defenders like you’re playing Frogger, it’s a lot easier for the refs to let it go because there’s no violent collision that they’re having to ignore.

Izzo won one national championship a thousand years ago against a 5 seed and he’s gotten premium whistle from it for going on three decades. He gets whatever he wants.

Purdue gets it too for no apparent reason despite having a worse overall pedigree than Illinois. Wisconsin gets it.

I don’t think the whole conference is against us. I think against Michigan, and usually Indiana, for example, we get more fair treatment. But there’s a very obvious treatment the refs give us when they’re looking to railroad us. We’ve all seen it dozens of times and it’s very real.
