The prep was pretty easy.

Some over the counter pills and a powder (I think) to mix in a bunch of lemon-lime Gatorade. IIRC, couldn;t really taste it when mixed. Just made the Gatorade a bit cloudy / chalky.

The worst part was that I started the prep such that I was to report to the hospital at 10 AM. I kept getting bumped and didn't have my procedure until after 4 PM. I was hungry.

Apparently when still under the influence of the procedure meds, the recovery nurse asked me if I needed anything and I told her, "yeah, a Busch Light". Have no recollection.

Edit: Also, my Doc told me I had "an exquisite asshole". Come back in 10 years. (He'll be long retired.)

She told me that very morning she had asked a patient if they had fasted, and the patient was like "Yeah, all I had was an egg sandwich this morning."

When informed that that isn't fasting, the patient responded "But I was so hungry!"

Family history of colon cancer, so I started them earlier than typical. None of them have been all that awful.

Better than my Dad going through chemo and radiation and dealing with an ostomy for 25 years.

Worked for me because it was the day of the S Carolina bowl game.

I asked a couple nurses if I could have a drink seeing it was NYE. They all said to wait 24 hours. I asked the anesthesiologist and she said to ignore that and have a drink if I wanted to. I listened to the latter….

When I did, insurance covered about half the colonoscopy. When I didn’t use it the 2nd time, I didn’t pay a cent, it was 100% covered.

Cologuard sucks because of the anxiety it causes.

My CG result said, "cancer detected" or some horrible phrasing. I freaked the fuck out. Had to check various health forums to come off the ledge and found out it just meant that I likely had polyps that would be removed during a colonoscopy. But from the CG results to the colonoscopy day, I was way nervous.

Ask for SUPREP next time.

Both involved foul tasting liquids, but different brands. They were both smaller bottles like you described, though, and then loads of water.
