So starting needs left are another S, Edge, DT and CB2 (compete with Tyrique).

Depth needs are S, Edge, CB, WR4/5, C, G, LB4.

You don't draft for need, blah blah blah, but if you could peg positions to draft spots, getting an edge and DT in your first 3 picks would be ideal. Hell you wanna grab 3 DL with your first 3 picks, I'd love it. Then snagging a S, LB and C in rounds 3-5. And then taking a TE in the 7th in a really deep TE draft.

Would almost guarantee they trade down with one of their first and second round picks, draft sets up so they don't pick between the 4th and 7th rounds.

And the forward looking roster at DT is :eek.

I mean it's already :eek from a quality standpoint, but they're gonna cut Jarrett, Turner seemed like he was shifting to edge before he was hurt and who knows if they wanna re-sign Dexter.

Only guy under contract we'd expect to be here in 2027 is Gallimore and who even knows with him, easy out next year if he sucks since he's like a DT4.

Kyler has consistently been an average QB with a handful of off-script, videogame scrambles. He's a bottom-half, possibly bottom-third QB on-script. Since his injury, he has been worse. Plays scared, panics, won't dive on fumbles, and has had almost no off-script brilliance. He's had two different offenses built entirely around his skill set, which, when your strength is improvisation, is never going to be successful. He's never had any kind of relationship with a receiver. He's never been a leader. You can't find a non-current teammate who says anything other than extremely superficial shit about him. He's not out in the community, he isn't the face of the franchise. He's basically a hermit which doesn't work in an NFL locker room for a QB.

But...he's better than JJ for sure, and I expect that the new relationship positivity will shine through at the beginning of this year. He'll probably have some great moments but unless he has a serious crisis of identity, looks in the mirror, and changes who he is as a person, he'll fail in Minnesota too. I actually hope he does because I have no ill-will towards him, but I'm damn glad he isn't a Cardinal anymore.

Average QBs are really valuable. If you get one for nothing, even more so*

He's been pretty shit, but that's more to do with his work ethic and attention to detail vs. his pure ability.

though the allen system is much more interchangable with safeties than traditional BOX or HIGH, so the flexibility is good. i still think they could bring back either byard or brisker, depending on their market. i don't think bryant is necessarily disqualifying for either.

They’re not taking picks away from anyone to give these to the bears. They give out comp picks like candy already. It hurts no one to give the bears these picks and follows the spirit of the rule even if they disagree with whether or not this hire follows the letter of the rule (which I will argue till the day I die that it does). So without getting into too many specific names, here’s what I’d like to see

Bears play in the middle part of the S and LB class, sign 2 starters there. Re-sign Elijah Hicks.

Find an edge in FA you like that won’t break the bank but can give you depth.

Re-sign Braxton Jones OR sign a Taylor Decker to compete with Benedet at LT.

Sign Khyris Tonga or some other nose guard to get a body in at DT.

Take a few fliers at CB who can come in and compete for a roster spot.

If possible, you’re then targeting DE, DT, LB, S and C in the draft.
