Turnell having a nice tourney, but he's still struggled and it seems like most times that Wilson is in the lineup, he struggles as well

...he's grinding to do this while it's becoming monumentally tougher to get on the tour. His former Illini teammate Scott Langley retired from golf a few years back, I keep expecting a similar announcement from Luke but he's still going.

the ways players qualify for these tournaments are so dumb. e.g. cam davis has played crappy golf for basically 3 straight years. but one good week 21 months ago got him a win and he's still getting into tourneys. meanwhile, Dahmen is playing well this year, 56th on the points list and is outside a 144 man field list. crazy shit

I like that he wants to get rid of the no-cut elevated events. His biggest challenge is going to be unwinding all the contracts, relationships and outdated habits that seem to stifle making all those changes.

Was interesting that he mentioned match play for the tour finals. Doesn't seem like TV would want it, so has work to do there. Hoping an ex-NFL guy can see that "playoffs" don't fit golf but probably not.

Kyle Porter put it out there - season long points race is for seeding into the match play tournament of 16 or whatever. That basically insures you have a lot of the top stars at the end but also includes some young guys or guys having an out of nowhere good season. last year would have been

1. Scottie vs. 16. Cam Young
8. Spaun vs. 9. Fleetwood

4. Henley vs. 13. Conners
5. JT vs. 12. Novak

3. Straka vs. 14. Aberg
6. Griffin vs. 11. Mcnealy

2. Rory vs. 15. Bobby mac
7. English vs. 10. Bradley

round of 16 on day 1
round of 8 and semis on day 2
Championship and 3rd place on day 3
