The left-handed freshman starting pitcher struck out 8 of the first 9 batters and then Hartleb left him in too long (like he always does) on a day where the wind was blowing out (as it often is) and a 3-0 lead became a 3-3 tie. New Orleans took a late game 4-3 lead and the Illini tied it up in the bottom of the 9th. So it goes to extras and the visitors went up by a run in the top of the 10th. The first Illini batter got on and (of course) Dan called for a sacrifice bunt and that pretty much was that. I absolutely hate that guy. He is a complete waste of space.

When nobody really expects it and then we have to go through the song and dance of what a great coach he is.

Keep extending him.

The program should be competing for at large berths yearly. Maybe not always in but always at least near the bubble.

I was hoping for more of a breakout from Jennings but the Ks have kept him back. There's some talent that's gone through the program.
