I’m pretty sure they’re just going as friends as he’ll be up in Pittsburgh anyway for their graduation and it’s the night before. The date wants a promposal.

WAT? First, why is this a thing anyway? Second, why is this a thing when you’re just going as friends?

Lives to other people. My experience is they try to have very curated aesthetics.

And I shouldn’t be so hard on them as it isn’t limited to this generation, but social media has really made it about 10x worse.

I’ve had to throw two themed baby showers for nieces where they wanted to rent out space, cater food, photo areas, have social media hashtags, etc. not to be the old lady shaking her fist at these kids but I was happy to have a baby shower at my sister in laws house with some cake and balloons. The theme was “we’re having a baby”.

Might seem a bit dumb and over the top as an adult looking at it, but it's the thing now.

I honestly wonder if some of these kids end up putting more time into their prop proposals than they'll put into their marriage proposals.

But with crossover with some kids going to prom with kids form other schools and graduations coming soon, proms get spread out over a few weeks.

My daughter's is May 2nd. We got suckered into chaperoning post prom at a trampoline park until 2:30 AM.

up with before all the kids disperse for college.

He definitely feels at least as attached to these kids as those in his current school. Another friend who moved away from Pittsburgh is also coming back for the prom.
