Now do it 26 times. That’s nuts. Previous Message Olympic athletes, etc. However, watching this guy who broke the 2 hour marathon barrier in London and seeing how fast he was running…holy. It may be the most impressive. These guys are machines. It is crazy that they can run that fast for that long and not be dead. Also 2 other fun nuggets (for me at least): 1) Adidas gets the official record breaker after a huge Nike campaign with another guy. 2) Adidas has spent over $50k getting this guy drug tested at various races leading up to London to remove all doubt. These last two nuggets from Rovell, so retracted if they aren’t accurate. I have schweppervessence and wessonality. Too sweet to be sour, too nice to be mean.

cease to blow me away. Even the people bringing up the rear are putting in 5x my mileage limit…26.2 is a long way to run, and to do it fast? Wtf. There’s often been a Kenyan coming through first who is just lapping everyone else. Second and third are like soooo far behind lol…but they are still so fast! What about these ultra marathon runners? Yeah, professional marathon runners seem almost inhuman to me.

When I was in college one morning I tried to go to the supermarket but the home stretch of the Boston marathon was blocking my way. But I just happened to get there right as the lead runners were coming through. Seeing the pace in person was mind blowing. At 26 miles, these guys were running at pretty close to my out sprint pace. I definitely couldn’t have kept up with them for 400 meters.
