That 20-game slate again includes three teams Illinois will play both at home and on the road — Northwestern, Purdue and Wisconsin — and seven opponents each for home only or road only matchups.

The Illini will face Iowa, Michigan State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Penn State, UCLA and USC at State Farm Center only during the 2026-27 season. Also on the schedule are road games at Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon, Rutgers and Washington.

Orlando: age 54 or so. If he ever wants to run his own program, better start thinking about it sooner rather than later IMHO.

Geoff Alexander: roughly the same age, but IMHO it's doubtful he'll get to be a HC at a major program.

Tyler and Camryn Crocker: both about the same age, and they're called offensive and defensive coordinator. FWLIW: Crocker has been at three academic schools as a player or coach: Colgate, UPenn and Stanford. Seems to have some sort of career niche right now. I'd say he wants to jump to a school more like UIUC in the future rather than an Ivy-style school if he wants to stay in coaching at this $$ level. Sure seems smart enough to realize that though. :-)

If he goes, it potentially adds to the our narrative of putting guys in the league. But more important, I have faith there is a backup plan. And also wonder if the backup plan might be a better fit if it's somebody who can space the floor.

For all that Andrej brings to the table, the same limitations will be there in terms of floor spacing.

It will almost certainly be a Euro, but this isn’t like 2 years ago where those guys are just there for the taking in late May. One would assume that the best ones have been snatched up by now.

That being said, I’m still pretty confident Andrej is coming back. I have to believe that the coaching staff wouldn’t have let Andrej’s camp dictate who else we could recruit if there wasn’t a very high level of confidence that he’d return.

Juh-reem was 24 on RSCI, and his lowest of the rankings in the average was 35. Definitely a higher recruit than Curbelo or Morillo.

UConn's got Kansas, Arizona Virgnia, Illinois, Michigan and Duke.
Illinois has Duke, Uconn and TTech.
Duke's got Illinois, Uconn, Michigan, Gonzaga and probably at Florida in the ACC-SEC.
Michigan has Duke, UConn, Nova and the Players Era tourney.
Florida has Miami, Players Era (not with Michigan) and probably Duke.
