seen so many mailers/emails/etc. from agents and insurance companies telling me how much I can save.

Here in SoCal the last 18 months have been a shitshow with the 2 big fires in Jan 2025

State Farm not writing new policies, fire ratings making things impossible to insure either at all or at semi-reasonable rates, HOAs dropping coverage and putting it on residents, etc
