Guess you can't put a price tag on performative military jingoism.

It's entertainment. It requires an insane amount of talent and practice. Not every performer at an airshow is military-in fact, most are not. People enjoy them, regardless of whether or not military flight teams are involved. Hell, I'VE flown in an airshow.

And flyovers and air shows are completely different animals.

There are so many other reasonable and justifiable targets for your angst and rage. Why waste it on airshows?

...and refurbish vintage warbirds to flying condition.

Where my issue comes is when active duty military aircraft and military pilots are put at risk for our militaristic fetishes and armed services recruitment.

In that video we just watched $135 million of our tax dollars go *poof*....and for what? This is at a time where we're told by the current admin that we don't have the money to feed or take medical care of our own people. That seems like a pretty fucked up sense of priorities.

...and don't get me started on the lives of all four Naval aviators.
