My 90-year old mom is having surgery tomorrow so she called our priest to get Last Rites.

Officially, it’s Annointing of the Sick and isn’t reserved for those only on their death bed. She dialed the number wrong and got some random dude. It went something like this:
Mom: “Father, I’m having surgery tomorrow. Can I come down to church for confession and Last Rites?”
Rando: “I don’t think it’ll do you any good since I’m not a priest.”
Mom: “I guess I got the wrong number. Sorry.”
Rando: “Yep, good luck tomorrow though.”
She got a laugh out of it. I’m glad the guy was nice.
It takes takes nothing to be a good person, glad she got one*
